Workshop Network,

Thanks very much for the plans which I downloaded successfully. I am in my mid sixties and am trying to make a living doing various bits of woodwork. I mainly concentrate on doing MDF blanks for the artists such as trays, boxes etc. However it is a lot of effort with little reward.

When my father passed he left my brother in South Africa a well designed Adirondack armchair. I took a copy of this and built a sample out of pine, which I managed to sell at a decent profit. I decided that it would most probably give me a better income if I concentrated on Adirondack furniture in good hardwoods. I started browsing and seeing this large range of styles and types. I wanted to get a set of plans to see if I am doing the job correctly and getting the heights and spacing correct unfortunately I do not have much finance so was looking for something free.

I am going to concentrate on the chair and hopefully get it going. If luck is with me I will then be looking for the folding type, the rocker etc. and who knows I may soon be able to actually pay for the plans. So thanks again for the plans and thanks for the customer service. Keep it up it is a rarity these days.

Regards, John Horn.

I think you did a great job.  I got a little impatient when I first contacted your site, but then I remembered I was working on a computer.  Your people made up for the slow computer by helping me get what I was looking for.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.
here is a sample of my handy work for you to show off on your website.
Hi, thanks for your excellent plans; the Adirondack chair is a rarity in England. My girlfriend is from the US and she told me about them so I looked around the internet and found two sites. Yours is by far the best site. Full size plans and most of all, good design. Thanks again, Brian James.
I spend my winters on a very small island in the Bahamas. This chair project is one of the challenges I will be taking on this season. Getting the proper lumber, screws, access to proper power tools, etc is a major part of the project. Also, a $250 chair purchased in the US would also add a 35% import duty, 7% sale tax, $75 freight charges,$75 for duty processing fees and ?? delivery time. I will let you know if I end up with a new replacement chair or a pile of firewood......Jubb Corbett

Hello there,

Let me first of all say that if ever a site didn't need feedback it is yours. It does what it says on the tin!

I have had great fun with the chair plan and have even made one from two re-cycled pallets.

I also have a friend in Belgium who made one and says that it makes him drink more wine as he can keep the glass on one arm and the bottle on the other.

Have a great Christmas and let us all hope that 2009 is kinder than everyone thinks. I really feel for all those who face unemployment through no fault of their own.

Regards,

Keith Huggett.

plans were great will begin building soon. thanks so much for the complete details from every aspect of the build

Regards,

Chris.

The plans were excellent. Your service was great. Even though we had a mix-up at first. The chair has been on my front porch all summer. Thanks again for a excellent product.

Sorry I haven't written back to you sooner, I had been looking for a project to build with my 3 year old grandson, we had seen Norm on " The New Yankee Workshop" build one, my grandson said "pappy build" so we built your fanback model and my grandson screwed it together we both had a great time.
Thank you so much, Kirk (Pappy)

Dear Woodshop.Net, thanks for taking the time the other day to discuss my project. You were right on about the reduction of the plans size, we were able to make the child size chair with very little effort. I have enclosed a photo of our chairs. I took your advise and went with the western red cedar and stainless fastners. The chairs look great.

Really do appreciate you took the time to help us with our weekend project.
